The 10th Annual Great Chefs Event

What:

The Great Chefs Event began in 2005 by partners Marc Vetri and Jeff Benjamin to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a local non-profit that raises funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. In 2008, Vetri and Benjamin founded the Vetri Foundation for Children, which helps provide healthy food and nutrition education to Philadelphia youth. Today, the event is a dual fundraiser for the two foundations, raising more than $750,000 in 2014.

Now in its 10th year, the event brings dozens of high-profile chefs from across the country and around the world to the unique space of Urban Outfitters, Inc.’s corporate campus in Philadelphia for an evening of fun, food and charity.

ESF Dream Camp Parents’ Cook Off

What:

In an effort to encourage more families to cook at home with their families, the Vetri Foundation for Children and ESF Dream Camp hosted a cooking demo and handed out bags of groceries with basic ingredients for pasta primavera. Families are invited to return with their finished meals on Tuesday, July 21st for a competition judged by Marc Vetri, Jeff Benjamin and Michael Rouse on taste, creativity, and presentation. After the competition, all participants will have a chance to sit down and enjoy dinner together.

What:

As part of their ongoing sustainability efforts, Brown's Super Stores - who operates eleven ShopRite Supermarkets in the Philadelphia area - will be hosting a community food collection. This non-perishable food drive will be formally kicked off at ShopRite of Fox Street on Tuesday, August 25th at 10:00 am as they focus on the daunting issue of hunger in Philadelphia.

The food drive will be conducted in partnership with Philabundance, Drexel University, Cabrini College, and the Vetri Foundation, as we strive to decrease the food insecurity in the city and its surrounding communities. This collection will supplement the hundreds of pounds of fresh surplus food Brown's donates on a weekly basis.

The ShopRite locations listed below will each have a bin located in the front of the store where the community can donate unopened non-perishable food. All food collected through Friday, September 18th will be donated to the local area food banks.

Bocce Ball Tournament at Alla Spina Benefiting the Vetri Foundation

Bowl with the Birds XIV

What:

Bowl with the Birds began in 2001.  Celebrating our 14th year, the event provides a rare opportunity for Philadelphia Eagles fans to meet, greet, eat, and bowl with members of the Eagles. The event has been a great success and has helped to raise money for the Jeremiah Trotter Foundation, The Brian Mitchell Foundation, The Prostate Cancer Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Association, Young Variety, and The Vetri Foundation.

This year’s event will be hosted by Eagles LB DeMeco Ryans and a portion of the proceeds will once again support the Vetri Foundation for Children.  The Vetri Foundation for Children empowers children and families to lead healthy lives through fresh food, hands-on experiences and education.  

We appreciate your support in joining DeMeco and other members of the Philadelphia Eagles to raise funds for the Vetri Foundation for Children. Just like the first 13 years of the event, Bowl with the Birds XIV promises to be a fun-filled evening.

Marc Vetri is next up for Pat’s Steaks Guest Chef Series. Vetri is preparing a ribeye steak with Di Bruno Bros’ mortadella, taleggio, cherry peppers, onions and Cheez Whiz on roll.

The steak will be available on Thursday, January 21st from 3 to 5 p.m. The steaks will cost $10 each and all sales will benefit the Vetri Community Partnership.
