On May 14th, Chef Marc Vetri invited Chefs Lidia Bastianich, Missy Robbins, and Greg Vernick to prepare a multi-course meal for 100 guests in order to raise money for Vetri Community Partnership to support our mission to nourish minds, bodies, and communities with nutrition education through cooking. The event included a four-course meal, each course prepared by one of the chefs, and a dessert prepared by the Fitler Club, where Vetri Community Partnership held the event.

Vetri Community Partnership’s co-founder Marc Vetri was joined by Michelin-starred chef and Emmy-winning TV host Lidia Bastianich, Top Chef Masters Contestant and Michelin-starred chef Missy Robbins, and local James Beard chef Greg Vernick. Together, the culinary legends prepared a beautiful meal that raised nearly $400,000 to support Vetri Community Partnership’s mission and allow us to continue serving Philadelphians of all ages with cooking classes and nutrition education.

“Vetri Community Partnership exists to build joy and community around food. The support from so many people in Philadelphia and throughout the country ensures that we are able to continue working towards our mission and making our community a healthier, more joyful place to live,” said Maddy Booth, VCP’s Chief Executive Officer.

The 100 guests in attendance dined on appetizers from all four chefs, plus Vernick’s Lamb Merguez, Lidia’s Italian American Manicotti, Robbins’ prosciutto and mascarpone filled capelletti, and finally, Vetri’s smoked shortrib and spring vegetables. In addition to the dinner, guests were invited to bid on a variety of items and experiences in the silent auction, which included private dinner experiences from Chefs Amanda Shulman and Alex Kemp (of Her Place Supper Club and My Loup), and Chef Marc Vetri.

“It is humbling to cook alongside my friends Lidia, Greg, and Missy and deeply rewarding to know their participation benefits a cause I have dedicated my life to,” said Marc Vetri. “Their participation in this dinner means the world to me.”
