Early Head Start’s socialization event

This month, the Mobile Teaching Kitchen returned to Smith Memorial Playground, joining the Health Federation of Philadelphia’s Early Head Start for a community socialization event. This beautiful fall day brought together new moms and their kids for an afternoon of connection, learning, and delicious food.

During the event, our team shared samples of our Black Bean & Corn Salsa, a simple, colorful, and budget-friendly recipe that’s perfect for busy families looking to add more nutritious meals to their tables.

Sylvia, a mom attending the event, shared, “Everything I tried from the Mobile Teaching Kitchen was my first time having it,” while Ayana, a new mom, raved, “I really relied on these recipes to have quick nutritious meals as a first-time mom!”

For Vetri Community Partnership, moments like these are at the heart of our mission. Everyone deserves to have the knowledge and confidence to cook nourishing meals at home, no matter their budget, schedule, or experience level. The Mobile Teaching Kitchen meets families where they are and shares nutritious recipes and samples that are delicious, accessible, and affordable for everyone.

We’re grateful to the Health Federation of Philadelphia and Smith Memorial Playground for welcoming us into their space and for making Philadelphia a healthier, more joyful place to be.
